Changes are coming. . .

I'm busy at work on my fall/winter collection and a (drum roll please) a website for Tangleweeds! Yes, that's right, this here modest blog will be movin' on over to a new web home in the not-so-far-off future. In the meantime, some snapshots from the last few days. . .

Life Lately - It's all about the bling

Some snaps from the last couple of weeks or so. . . Sometimes, based on my photos, one would think I live, sleep, breathe, think jewelry. . . oh, wait, I do! Happily so.

A few of the goodies that were shipped off after my Etsy flash sale ended.

Stones all lined up for my By Chance horseshoe necklaces. Front to back of photo: labradorite, lapis lazuli, green onyx, carnelian.

Wearing some earrings my sister made for me a few years ago. These are made of copper, silk ribbon and jasper stones. She's pretty creative, that sister of mine!

A shot from just this past weekend at the Temescal street fair here in Oakland.

Hammer-time =)

Part of my display at the Treasure Island Flea Market. This market is the last weekend of every month. You can find me there about 2 to 3 times a year. (Check my events page for upcoming fairs.)

By Chance and Featherlight pieces all prepped and ready to ship off to shop!

July is really looking so crazy for me this year. Car repairs, doc. appointments, wholesale orders, working on my new pieces for my fall/winter collection. And sales taxes are due at the end of the month too. Oh boy, oh boy! Time sure is it's own train that just keeps on moving whether you're ready for the ride or not.

(All photos are from my Instagram.)

Weekly Adventures

Or, a new series better known as "my life as portrayed on Instagram". . .

kitchen corners: a God's eye made by my friend Molly. She's got a whole collection of these that she's made and they're all super rad.

Oakland's First Friday, aka Art Mumur. I set up a booth outside with Jeff. He sold his posters. I sold my baubles. Pretty good deal =)

Some weekend essentials. I headed out to Patterson to see my family on Saturday. It reached 109 out there! Woweee!

Coffee to start my day in one of my all time favorite mugs.

Arlo, the wonderful cat that he is. He always know when I need to relax. As in, "don't worry about this laundry, mom. It's making a great bed!"

Sera (Jeff's daughter) had a photo exhibit with her photo class at Berkeley High last week. Her series was of snapshots from many different college campuses on the east cost. She visited a bunch of campuses a few weeks ago with her mom ('cause she'll be applying to colleges this November!)

There's lots going on here at the Tangleweeds studio too! Just to entice you, I'll be posting here about a sale in my Etsy shop later this week. . .

Oh, it's fun to tease =)

A Few Days to Get Away

A couple of weeks ago Jeff and I took off for Calistoga. We stayed at the Indian Springs resort spa. Ahhhh, so lovely. It was my belated birthday celebration for just the two of us.

It's a gorgeous drive getting out there, but not so far that you're stuck in a car for hours and hours. Even if all you have is just a day, I highly recommend it as a way to re-charge one's batteries, so to speak!

we had dinner at Goose and Gander in Saint Helena one night

left: a small coffee roastery in Calistoga, right: strawberry mojito (for me) and draft beer on tap (for him) on our first night of freedom

cheesy selfies =)

We spent an abundant amount of time lounging poolside, reading poolside, eating poolside, oh and floating in the actual pool!

Until next time, enjoy your days!

Sayin' Hello

May, oh how you have flown by! Really flown by! I've been busy at work, spiffying up my studio, prepping for the summer craft fair season, and taking a (gasp!) vacation to Calistoga as a late birthday present with my sweetie.

Mostly, I just wanted to drop by to say hello and say I'm thinking of you guys, my readers. I'm going to have photos from Calistoga in the next week, so that's something. In the meantime, I hope everyone is having a wonderful springtime season!

Just a Day to Get Away

Jeff and I took a day trip to Point Reyes this past Saturday. It was the perfect antidote to my busy jewelry making days. Our one day trip was a nice reminder that you can get away and have a new expeirence (in a beautiful place!) even if all you have is just a single day. . .

Now it's back to major-prep mode for the return to craft fair season this month!

It's all about perspective

All of these are from my Instagram. Follow me if you like. I post mostly jewelry related photos, with generous helpings of kitchen, home, cat, family and friends.

This cat is too cute. Keeps me mellow and relaxed when working from home.

New colors in my Featherlight pieces.

It's funny how when I have the least amount of time for designing and scheming up new pieces, that is EXACTLY when I get flooded with new ideas. Figures! Early morning coffee here with my sketch book.

New crescent moon pieces. These are available in the Etsy shop.

My nephew being a goof ball. Got to hang out with him and his mom this past weekend. Sort of impromptu, spontaneous fun. Sometimes my life gets so packed full it's difficult to make time for it, but when I do I remember that there's always time for it. It's all about perspective.

Time to start wrapping up my day. I hope everyone out there has a lovely and restful evening!
