Today has been off to a bumpy start. . . Feeling under the weather, which is quite unfortunate today given this gorgeous weather! Such un-winter-like winter we're having here in the San Francisco bay area. I had intended to share some snaps with you from the new shop, CH Good Stock, I'm working at on Thursdays, but, alas, that will have to wait 'til next week. Here's a little Lana Del Rey to enjoy in the meantime. I love her gown in this video, and the tigers!

Labor Day
I'm spending today working on Etsy orders and new jewelry designs. I can't put into words how thrilled I am to be moving on from Peaberry's, taking that next step and working solely for myself.
Here's a little ditty to get your week started!

A Sunday evening concert
My good friend, Nancy, recently moved back to Berkeley from L.A. Which means great things for me - mainly more time with a near and dear friend. And it meant we got to spend a lovely evening at The Greek Theatre in Berkeley, watching Florence and the Machine perform songs from her album, Lungs.
The show was theatrical and gorgeously staged. Her ensemble was a brilliant chartreuse green and had flowing cape-like wings or sleeves, I like to think of them as wings, that fluttered about in the breeze.
It was a beautiful, moonlit evening. Not too cold and with just the faintest touch of fog. Absolutely lovely.

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass
Jeff and I were only able to make it out to this fantastic music fair for one day this year, Sunday. We got to hear (I say hear rather than "saw" because the crowds are so huge that getting very close to the stage is a near impossibility) Roseanne Cash (my favorite of the day), Nick Lowe, Dave Alvin, Sharon Jones and the Dap Kings, and the Indigo Girls. Here's a few pictures from our day. . .
and lastly. . . what I wore.
Good night for now!

These two ladies were selling the yummiest aqua frescas, cantaloupe and spicy lemonade!
The crowd. We like to go to this event picnic style. We bring a blanket and lots of food and drinks and pick a stage that has the most acts at it that we both want to see and then we basically hunker down and camp out for the day. It's really fun and I find it much less stressful than rushing from stage to stage frantically trying to get to see EVERYONE. I got to catch up on my NY Times reading too.

Berkeley World Music Festival
As promised, here are some pictures from the Berkeley World Music Festival. All of these were taken at the infamous People's Park in Berkeley.
Some girls hula-hooping to the music.

Sean and Jeff playing hackey sack.

Vendors selling handmade goods.
The world's cutest dog (or one of them at least!)
More hula-hooping.
It was a delightful time!

Fairs and Sunshine
There sure was a lot of both of these all weekend for me! On Saturday my boyfriend and his son and I went to the Berkeley World Music Festival. We had a great time, even the semi-reluctant 10 year-old who was convinced he would not have a good time. He made pretty good friends with the gentleman selling chainmail armor, jewelry and hand-crafted "weapons" made out of foam and pvc pipe. He went home with one new "axe." I'll have some pictures from that fair tomorrow!

Yesterday was the Temescal Street Fair. It was a big hit! I think the one BIG thing I would have done differently was water supply! I would have packed a DOZEN water bottles. While it wasn't that hot yesterday it was hot enough to warrant constant water consumption.

I thought I'd share some of the photos from my booth. I wish I had taken some photos of neighboring booths. Something to remember for next time!

Thanks to all who dropped by to say hi! It was a great day, full of great music and friends. I also met some new lovely folk as well. If you missed this one, you can catch me at the next Renegade Craft Fair in San Francisco on July 31st and August 1st.

Long Weekend
A long weekend it was, for most people at least! I worked most of the weekend at the coffee shop, but I did manage to fit in some time for fun and good food and time with the people I love.

My boyfriend and I almost always go to Jupiter, in Berkeley on Sunday nights. Not only do they have great beer and pizza, but they also have free, live bluegrass music. I looooove bluegrass music. It might sound a bit cheesy, but for me, hearing bluegrass feels a little like finding home.

Jewelry work was a bit neglected the last few days, I must say. I'm looking forward to a good, solid four days of dedicated work time. I'm still getting ready for the Temescal Street Fair too. Hope to see those of you who are local there!
